Join the workwear revolution
The noragi jacket is an old-school Japanese workwear staple. Once the go-to garment for farmers and labourers, the modern love affair with classic workwear has seen this handsome utilitarian design become fashionable once more. And it’s got loads going for it – with a boxy, minimalist silhouette that looks great paired with jeans or layered over a tee. This version from iconic Japanese brand Snow Peak is absolutely on the money, made in soft organic cotton canvas. The ecru version is left totally natural, while the indigo undergoes an unusual dyeing process that helps it to fade beautifully with wear. With no buttons or zips, the noragi fastens simply at the front, and you can wear it open or closed for an unconventional twist on a workwear look

- In keeping with traditional Japanese workwear, the “NORAGI” series has been updated with both fabric and design as camping wear
- Fabric uses organic cotton thread and has a rich expression by using a particularly long uneven thread
- By putting the weaving density to the limit, Snow Peak have achieved firm elasticity
- The indigo is dyed first, the warp is dyed with rope dyeing, the weft is dyed separately with gray that does not fade
- Rope dyeing ensures that it does not dye at the center of the thread, which gives a unique deep expression that is different from the post-dyed method
- Tailored with a durable double chain stitch

Snow Peak’s journey began in 1958, when the founder Yukio Yamai, an accomplished mountaineer, created his own line of superior climbing gear. Snow Peak then looked to evolve by shifting its focus from the mountaineering equipment of the past to the camping equipment of the future. Fueled by the booming national interest in auto-camping sweeping across Japan, Snow Peak released a series of radically innovative products which focused on quality, functionality, timeless-durability and considered design.
